A Brazilian man had to attend his own funeral to prove to his family that he is not dead.

According to The Daily Mail, Gilberto Araujo attended his own funeral in Alagoinhas, Brazil to show family members he is not the man they are mourning.

Show them he did. Some of the people at HIS wake fainted and some ran away. GoodLawd!

That’s totally understandable though.

What happened is that Gilberto’s brother heard news that a car washer, a job his brother also had, was murdered.

Since Gilberto’s family rarely heard from him and he stayed at different places, they thought it was him. What’s more, when the his brother Jose Marcos went to the morgue, he saw a man who looked very much like Gilberto and so he identified it as his brother.

So lesson learned, call your family once in a while. Tell them you’re still alive.
