A Hungarian man managed to drive himself 15 kilometers, arm in tow, to the nearest hospital after he had accidentally got his arm cut off while cleaning an industrial machine.

According to the Agence France-Presse:

“The 37-year-old man’s arm was sliced off just below the elbow by a piece of machinery in Purbach, eastern Austria, AFP reports.  He managed to retrieve the limb before driving himself 15km to a hospital in nearby Eisenstadt.  He was later flown to a hospital in Vienna where doctors worked to reattach his arm.”

A U.N. report recently suggested that people can eat insects as one of the ways to fight the growing epidemic of obesity.

According to the U.N., there are over 1,900 species of insects that can be eaten in the world.

Scientist Arnold van Huis from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, a co-author of the report, told Reuters, “In the West we have a cultural bias, and think that because insects come from developing countries, they cannot be good.”

The U.N. report was commissioned by the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization through its Forestry Department.

A man who was on his way to Brazil while dribbling a soccer ball has died on the road after being hit by a car.

According to reports, Richard Swanson, 42, was less than two weeks into his planned journey to Brazil when he died after being hit by a car on a road near Lincoln City, Oregon.

The Seattle native’s death was also announced in a Facebook post on his page.

The post said:

“It is with a heavy heart to notify you that Richard Swanson passed on this morning. His team, family, friends, and loved ones will miss him and love him dearly. You made it to Brazil in our hearts, Richard.”
